About Community Trust Credit Union
Service to the community is at the core of our values at Community Trust Credit Union.
As a result of our commitment, CTCU has been certified as a Community Development Financial Institution by the U.S. Department of the Treasury; a designation that allows us to apply for grants through the CDFI fund in order to expand our programs and outreach to low-income, unbanked and Spanish-speaking families in the four counties we serve.

Community Trust Credit Union is a full-service, not-for-profit financial institution. We are member-owned and operated, so you'll always feel at home here. And since we have no stockholders to pay, profits (after operating expenses) are returned directly to you, and your fellow members in the form of high dividend rates, low loan rates, and reduced fees for services.
Originally chartered in 1961 as Tri Valley Growers CU, our membership base has expanded over the years. To better represent this growing family of members, our name was changed to Food Processors Credit Union in 1983.
In 2001 the Department of Financial Institutions approved a bylaw change that allows anyone living, working or worshipping in Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties eligibility to join the credit union. As a result, we recently changed our name to Community Trust Credit Union to reflect this exciting change.
Also in 2001, our credit union applied for and was given the designation of Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the Department of the U.S. Treasury. We earned this status as a result of our programs that focus on products and services for people who are traditionally underserved by mainstream financial institutions. As a result of our CDFI designation, we have received over $1.1 million in grants, which allowed us to open additional branches and create programs that are critical to the future stability of low-income and Spanish-speaking families in our operating area.
Today we serve more than 90 companies within our community, from which we have approximately 12,000 members and more than $50 million in assets.
